The coastline around Torre de la Horadada offers several beaches and small coves.

Las Higuericas is particularly notable for its broad sandy beach, seafront walkway and dune environment.

Beaches in San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagán

On the Costa Cálida, San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagán offer the opportunity to experience both the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean.

In Lo Pagán you will find beaches including Villananitos, La Puntica and La Mota, with La Mota located beside the salt flats and the area known as the Charcas.

On the Mediterranean side, the Playas de La Llana form part of the natural surroundings of the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar.

Torrevieja offers both urban beaches and more natural coastal areas.

The weekly market in Pilar de la Horadada takes place on Friday mornings throughout the year.

Pinar de Campoverde holds its market on Sunday mornings in Plaza Florida.

Mil Palmeras holds its market on Tuesdays.

During the summer the market becomes considerably larger and spreads across several streets, while at other times of year it operates from a different location within Mil Palmeras.

During the summer months there is also an evening craft market on Paseo Riviera, making it a pleasant place for a walk beside the sea after dinner.

Torre de la Horadada Market — Wednesday

The weekly market in Torre de la Horadada is held on Wednesdays.

Stalls sell food, fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing, footwear, accessories, summer items and many other products.

The location may change between the summer season and the rest of the year.

Campoamor / Aguamarina Market — Thursday

In Orihuela Costa, the Aguamarina–Campoamor area has a weekly market on Thursdays.

A morning at the market can easily be combined with a visit to Campoamor, Cabo Roig and the nearby beaches.

Playa Flamenca Market — Saturday

The weekly Playa Flamenca market takes place on Saturdays.

You can find food, fruit, clothing, accessories and many other products.

Markets in San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagán

San Pedro del Pinatar has its weekly market on Mondays, while Lo Pagán holds its market on Thursdays.

During July and August there is also a Tuesday market in El Mojón.

Markets in Torrevieja and La Mata

La Mata holds its weekly market on Wednesdays.

The large Torrevieja market takes place on Friday mornings and has hundreds of stalls selling food, clothing, accessories and many other items.

Shopping in Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja

In addition to traditional markets, there are several larger shopping destinations nearby.

Zenia Boulevard in Orihuela Costa combines shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and major retail stores.

In Torrevieja, as well as the shops in the town centre, visitors can find Habaneras Shopping Centre, with shops, restaurants and other services.

Pilar de la Horadada and Torre de la Horadada

Before travelling further afield, it is worth discovering our own municipality.

In Torre de la Horadada you can see the historic Torre Vigía, a 16th-century watchtower built to protect and monitor the coastline.

In Pilar de la Horadada, visit the Gratiniano Baches Archaeological and Ethnological Museum, where archaeology, fossils and ethnology tell the story of the local area.

San Pedro del Pinatar and the salt flats

Just a short distance from our area is San Pedro del Pinatar, situated between the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor.

One of its main attractions is the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar Regional Park, a protected natural area with salt flats, dunes, walking trails and numerous bird species.

The La Mota walkway, the Charcas, traditional windmills and Lo Pagán make this one of the most distinctive places to visit on the Costa Cálida.

Torrevieja and the La Mata–Torrevieja lagoons

Torrevieja combines beaches and seafront areas with one of the most distinctive natural environments on the southern Costa Blanca.

The La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons Natural Park contains two large salt lagoons. The Torrevieja lagoon is particularly famous for its characteristic pink colour.

The visit can also be combined with Torrevieja town centre, the seafront, harbour or La Mata.

Orihuela: history, culture and Miguel Hernández

The historic city of Orihuela has an important cultural and architectural heritage.

Highlights include Orihuela Cathedral, Santo Domingo, the City Wall Museum, the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art and the Miguel Hernández House Museum.

Cartagena and its Roman heritage

Cartagena is one of the most interesting cultural destinations in the Region of Murcia.

Its Roman Theatre, located in the heart of the historic centre, is one of the city's best-known landmarks.

You can also visit the Castle of La Concepción, explore the old town and walk around the harbour area.

Murcia: Cathedral, historic centre and Real Casino

Murcia combines heritage, gastronomy, shopping and city life.
